WEEK 1
The two concepts
Wang creates modern buildings making use of traditional materials and applying older techniques. The Ningbo Museum is constructed of bricks salvaged from buildings which had been demolished to facilitate new developments. Wang is a keen supporter of architectural heritage where globalisation has stripped cities of their special attributes. Meanwhile, his design is simple and irregular. his concepts are:
HISTORY INFUSED IN TACTILE LAYERING
FORM IMMERSED INTO THE SITE
DIVERSE MONTAGE MERGED
FRAMED VIEWS FROM FIGURE / GROUND
NATURAL TACTILE MONTAGE WITH IRREGULAR FORMS
Seidler said the term "International Style" was a misnomer and so he objected to the term being used to describe modern architecture or his work - as both the later changed over time as social use and building technology developed. His concepts are:
DEFINED STRUCTURE WRAPPED BY THE SITE
BLURRED BOUNDARIES – INCLUSIVE
SITE CANVAS DERIVES INHERENT FORM
HONEST SCULPTURAL CHARACTERISTICS DRIVE GRACIOUS RESPONSE
TIME CAPSULE IN SECRETE SITE
(There is 12 sketch axonometrics, and another 6 sketch axonometrics is in week 2)

WEEK 3
FIVE IMAGES FROM LUMION
1.Site
Comment: From this image, we can find where the train station is, and we can clearly see the logo of UNSW and the light texture which I show below.
2.Side view
3.Front View
Comment: The station is inspired by the Ningbo museum Which designed by WANG SHU. The beautiful frame created by the combination of two building. The concept of the stairs is history infused in tactile layering, and use the subD to make the curved surface.
4.Detail
Comment: This image shows the details inside the station. For example Opal card reader, chairs, lightings, trash can and schedule display. And the texture on the top uses the real material of museum.
5.Texture
Comment: This image includes the medium and dark texture. The texture is inspired by the building's surface of WANG SHU which is multivariate and uses multiple materials.(which I show below)The chairs are inspired by the chairs in the museum which is simple.
